http://www.npr.org/rundowns/segment.php?wfId=4281421

From: Morning Edition, Wednesday, January 12, 2005
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4279809

Published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, both reports point to common-sense suggestions for healthful eating. NPR's Joseph Shapiro reports.

From: All Things Considered, January 5, 2005
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4269732

http://www.npr.org/rundowns/rundown.php?prgDate=15-Jan-2004&prgId=2

The program's backers say logging on to P.E. class from home helps students who are busy or shy -- and it also helps relieve overcrowded schools.

From: All Things Considered, January 5, 2004
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1584411
A growing school of thought suggests that precise statistical formulas may be more reliable than human intuition in predicting behavior. The perception could affect the workings of groups like parole boards, which often factor in gut instincts to decide whether an inmate is ready for release. NPR's Alix Spiegel reports.

The Science Behind Tobacco
Did you know there were 599 added ingredients to most
American made cigarettes? On average, a teenager who smokes a pack or more of cigarettes
each day lives 7 years less than someone who never smoked. Think about it. The “Science
Behind Tobacco” examines the tobacco plant from seed to cigarette in three featured
sections; farming, manufacturing cigarettes, and health problems caused by smoking. The
health aspect of the site relates to nicotine delivery systems in the body, addiction,
medical consequences to smokers and to those exposed to second hand smoke. Enhanced
features are defined highlighted terms, relevant Web links, and animation showing the
conditioning of tobacco and manufacturing cigarettes. - From the Liberty Science Center of Jersey City, NJ.
